It is pretty hard to find the music you are looking for, new music anyways but it is possible to do more advanced searches.

Here comes a few exampels.

Search by genre and release year
genre:indierock year:2008-2009
you apply genre: and year: as attributes.

Search by artist and release year with exceptions on certain years
artist:elvis -presley year:1970-1980 -year:1975-1979
the main difference here is that there is a minus attribute -year: that will limit our search.

Search attributes that you could use

artist:
album:
title:
genre:

all of these can be combined with a plus or minus.

This kind of search is optimal to use, easy to write wrong or make other misstakes but that is what Spotify offers right now. I have always wanted a advanced search in the spotify client so i dont have to write my search attributes anymore.

Some other things on my wishlist

Genre view – a list of all genres
Artist by genre view – a list of all artist by a certain genre
List of all new releases from mostly played artists (a limit is ok)
A list of new releases in general

 

 

Seovolution is a lot like Google Analytics, a service that measures/tracks your visitors on your website. The main differnce is that you can see in real time what your visitors are up to, how they use the site and so forth.

When this post was written it was still in beta and they had a hard time keeping up with new customers. They got a “digg effect” and it stopped responding, all sites went extremly slow including mine. The service is still interesting and i can except a beta not being 100%. They got some interesting functions like overlay, it is a heatmap over current clicks on the website. I recommend you to test it even if you maybe will have to wait a while to implement it properly.

Real time information is pretty hot right now and more will come. I think Google Analytics soon will have support for it also.
